Printing in the Library

If you are having trouble printing, refer to this guide for help.

  1. Open what you would like to print on a computer in the library.
  2. Press print, the printer should automatically be set up, so you do not need to select a printer. Select 'Print'. There will be a pop-up asking for a username and password. This will be your K-number and password you have previously set up.
  3. There will be another pop-up that your document is held in queue at the print release station.
  4. Enter the same username and password at the printing station to release your documents to printer.

Looking for a printer? There are printing stations throughout the library and Academic Support Center. There is a black & white printer and a color printer near the service desk when you first enter the ASC and one located in the Main Stacks of the library.

Printing is free.

Scanning

Looking for a scanner? The library has an easy to use scanner near the library service desk which allows you to send your image to:

  • an email
  • the printer

Printing from your own device

Wireless printing from personal devices is available though PaperCut in the Learning Commons (D-201), Jacobs Library (A-201), and the Ottawa Center.  Currently, the only file type that will print from a personal device is a pdf.  Please make sure your document is saved as a pdf before attempting to print. Follow these instructions to print from personally owned devices:

1. Go tohttps://papercut.ivcc.edu:9192/

If you see a message telling you that the connection is not secure (or a similar message) you will need to allow the connection by selecting "Advanced" and "Add Exception" or "Proceed to PaperCut" (wording may differ depending on what browser you are using).

2. Log in to PaperCut using your IVCC network login**

Username: K-number

Password: The one that you created when logging onto a campus computer previously

3. Select "Submit a Job

4. Follow the onscreen directions to select a printer, number of copies, and upload your file. Make sure your file is a PDF.

5. Select "Upload & Complete."  Your print job is complete when you receive the message "Held in a queue" in the Status column.

6. Go to the print release station in your selected location, log in using the same IVCC network login you used above, place in your money (five cents per page) and select print next to your print job.  Note: You have 45 minutes to print your file.  After 45 minutes, your print job will be deleted from the queue.

**If you have never logged onto an IVCC computer, you will need to do this to establish a network password.  If you have forgotten your network password, please see the Student Help Desk in the Learning Commons (D201).
